The Mike Longpré Memorial ProAm is held in honor of Michael Scott Longpré, who was the head pro at Deerwood Club before being stricken by cancer. This is a South Texas PGA sanctioned event sponsored by the William Stamps Farish Fund. It is played at the Deerwood Club in Kingwood. Local club pros from the South Texas PGA and others with similar status from surrounding PGA sections play for the largest purse in the Houston area – a 1st place payout of $10,000 to the winning pro and a total purse of $25,000. The pros are paired with their sponsoring amateur teams who play for token prizes.
